January 2017 Newsletter

Hello

I have two things to impart.
1 – a new boozy mini-project
2 – a decision made while under the influence of 1.

Firstly, this is eggnog. Eggnog made by Nick, husband of Naomi Devlin who teaches on our Gluten Free and Gut Health courses, kindly let me have a jar to try. I confess, eggnog has passed my lips perhaps twice in my life, and although I didn’t remember it with the same lack of fondness I have for the once-drunk Cinzano – yes, underage 1980s New Year, you have not been forgotten – I wasn’t sure it’d be for me.

It is, however, remarkable. Spiced rum, eggs and cream are the key ingredients.

Here is Dr Rebecca Lancefield’s recipe on which Nick based his. I shall use it as the basis for mine, with a little offroading I’m sure. I wonder if bay might work in there somewhere. I shall experiment and share the recipe soon.

Secondly, and admittedly while under the influence of an eggnog or two, I have reduced the prices of almost all courses.

I know from experience that it’s infuriating being on a course alongside those who have paid less for a late-offer place, so rather than running offers to fill unsold course places, I have lowered the price of the lot. Day courses that were £190 are now £160. For members, most day courses will now cost just £120.

It means early bookers are never penalised, and it will make what we do more widely affordable and ensures members are rewarded even further.

And yes, if you are one of those who has booked for a course already, you can expect a voucher for the difference to be find its way into your inbox shortly.

Happy New Year to you all

Mark
